We Stay Local, So We Know Local

Chain pest control companies try to serve as many customers as they can in one day, often overbooking themselves. Sometimes, they don’t take the time to understand the problem before they start treatment. They also might not understand the pests in certain areas very well, and their treatments may not be as effective.

We are a local company that knows what pests live here, which ones are the most problematic, and what treatments work best. We are able to be flexible so we can fit you in, sometimes even after typical work hours. We know our individual customers are what keeps us in business. We appreciate you choosing Nest Pest Control, a local business, for your pest control needs.

      Did You Know…

In Central America, there lives a spider called the Bagheera kiplingi. This spider’s diet is mostly…PLANTS! Yes, it is true. The Bagheera kiplingi steals bites of leaves and sips of nectar from the swollen-thorn acacias tree, which is protected by aggressive stinging ants. The spiders effectively avoid the ants to feed on the tree. The B. kiplingi doesn’t build webbed nests that can trap food, so they have to forage for it instead.

      FAQ

Here are some answers to some questions you may have about spider control, our techniques, or our company.

How much will spider treatments cost?
Call us today and we will work with you to set up a treatment plan that works for you. We start with a service that provides two treatments; the second treatment is given two weeks after the first. This ensures that we get all the spiders right at the start. We can then discuss our treatment plans that can prevent spiders from coming back. Ask us any questions if you are concerned about the cost.
What other types of pests do you treat for?
We are a full-service pest control company. This means that we can treat for any pest that is bothering you. Termites, bed bugs, roaches, ants, wildlife, and mice are all just a small sample of pests we treat. If you have any questions about types of pests you are dealing with, give us a call. We can help you.
Who will answer my questions when I call?
One of our helpful dispatchers will answer your call. Please ask as many questions as you need to make sure you understand how we operate and what to expect. Our expert exterminators also are happy to answer any inquiries you have about the pests and the treatment plan. We want you to feel taken care of and comfortable knowing you are working with the best.
What venomous spiders could be in my home?
Luckly, there is only one native venomous spider in and around Maryland. That is the black widow which can be identified as a stark black, shiney, spider with a red hourglass shape on its belly. Black widows only bite humans when agitated or frightened. Black widow bites rarely cause death. Death usually occurs because of allergies to the venom. Bites can cause some tissue damage, but can be treated by a doctor.

Another venomous spider that has been reported in the eastern U.S. is the brown recluse. This is not a native spider, but has been known to hitch a ride on luggage and other imports. Because it is not native, sightings of this spider is rare, and bites from it is even rarer.

Nest Pest Control treats for black widows and all other spiders. If you are concerned about a bite on yourself or a family member, seek medical attention. If possible, catch the spider, don’t kill it, so that the doctor can identify the spider and know how to treat the bite.
